The Trellis Tasting Room

The original farmhouse on the property, reimagined as an intimate indoor tasting room. Step inside to find cozy lounge seating, fireplaces, covered porches overlooking the vineyard, and a warmth that makes you feel like you’re visiting a friend’s home, one who happens to pour incredible wine.

Trellis is where you’ll find our guided and self-guided wine tastings, Chef Becca’s full seasonal food menu, and

a quieter pace to settle into a glass and take in the view.

The Pavilion on the Plateau

Our outdoor tasting room sits on a breathtaking overlook at the top of the property. Grab a glass of wine, a slice of woodfired pizza from Embers, or an order of empanadas, then find a seat on the lawn with views of the vineyard, pastures, and forest stretching out below you.

This is where families spread out, kids run around, and you might catch an alpaca wandering by. No reservation needed, just show up and settle in.

Meet the Flock

Doghobble is a working farm, and our animals are a big part of what makes a visit here feel different from any other winery. You’ll find them roaming the pastures, lounging near the vineyard, or wandering close enough to say hello. New babies arrive each spring.

Alpacas

Curious and calm, often spotted near the Pavilion.

Goats

Friendly and always interested in visitors

Donkeys

Gentle guardians of the pasture.

Sheep

Including Nate the ram, a guest favorite who’s stolen more than a few hearts.

Chickens

Free-ranging across the property (and occasional taste-testers for Chef Becca’s kitchen scraps)

Guinea Hens

You’ll hear them before you see them.

Because our animals roam freely, we are unable to allow pets on the property.

What to Expect

Your first visit is easy. Here’s how it works.

Arrive & Choose Your Space

Pull in off Roy Grindle Road and follow the signs to our paved parking lot. Decide between the indoor Trellis (adults 21+ only) or the outdoor Pavilion on the Plateau (families and all ages welcome).

Order at the Counter

Place your wine and food orders at the counter. Our staff is happy to walk you through our wines and help you find something you’ll love.

Find Your Seat

Grab a table marker and settle in, by the fireplace, on the covered porch, out on the lawn, or wherever the view calls you. Indoor and outdoor seating available.

Explore & Stay a While

Sip your wine, enjoy your food, stroll the grounds, meet the animals, and linger as long as you’d like. There’s no rush here.

Food & Dining

Every dish at Doghobble has been designed to pair with our wines and fit into a relaxed afternoon on the farm. Chef Becca’s seasonal kitchen sources locally whenever possible, from basil grown in our garden to figs and persimmons harvested on property in the fall.

Dietary Accommodations: Vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options are available. Let us know when you order and we’ll take care of you.

The Grounds

Doghobble sits on 80 acres atop the Dahlonega Plateau. Beyond the tasting rooms, there’s a whole farm waiting to be explored, stroll with your glass in hand and take your time.

What You’ll Find

  • The Vineyard → Rows of Norton, Lomanto, Chambourcin, Catawba, and muscadine vines growing in the red clay soil of the Dahlonega Plateau.
  • Pawpaw Grove → Fourteen varieties of pawpaw trees, the only tropical fruit native to the United States. A rare sight and a seasonal treat.
  • Pastures & Forest → Rolling green pastures where our animals graze, bordered by forest with views that stretch across the plateau.
  • Chef Becca’s Garden → Basil, herbs, and seasonal produce grown right beside the Embers pizza truck and used in the Trellis kitchen.
