The short answer: choose Roots if you mainly want the wine and the discount, and choose Blooms if you want time at the farm along with it. Both tiers include the same quarterly wine, the same shipment discount, and the same quarterly rhythm. The difference is what Blooms adds on top.
What both tiers share
- A member discount on shipments and reorders
- Quarterly release, 3 or 6 bottles, your choice of dry or sweet wines, fully customizable each release, four times a year
- A branded member gift, a birthday discount plus dessert, and a complimentary tasting each year
- Discounts on private events and Doghobble events
- Pickup parties and priority event invites
Roots: free to join
Roots has no annual fee. You pay only for the wine you choose each quarter, at 10% off for 3 bottles or 15% off for 6.
Roots fits you if you mainly want the wine, don’t visit the farm often, or would rather skip an annual cost. Pickup is available at the farm or at either tasting room, Doghobble Cellars and Doghobble at Dillard.
Blooms: $79 a year, plus your wine
Blooms includes everything in Roots, plus five members-only experiences:
- A complimentary 5 oz glass on the house
- Library and reserve wine access
- A site tour with the owner
- A tasting with the winemaker
- Member-for-a-day passes to share (2 to 4 a year)
Blooms fits you if you visit the farm regularly, want time with the owner and winemaker, or like bringing friends along on a member-for-a-day pass.
Is Blooms worth the $79?
If you visit even once or twice a year, the site tour, the winemaker tasting, and the guest passes add up to more than the $79 fee in experiences alone, on top of the same wine and discount you would get with Roots. Add a stop at the Farm Table and it makes a full afternoon rather than a pickup errand.
If you rarely visit and just want the wine shipped, Roots covers what you need without the extra cost.
